Signage

Signage

Signs, signs, signs. They are everywhere, including at your wedding. Signs to tell guests whose wedding they are attending, signs to tell them what drinks are available and at which table they will sit, and even to tell them you are happy they came and thank them for attending your wedding.

You can make your own signs. Wedding Bee has a lot of ideas: http://diy.weddingbee.com/category/signage

If you are good at design work, a local commercial print shop can help, such at http://www.undercoverprinter.com/ or  http://mandmprint.com/ here in Northern Virginia. Need more ideas? http://reimaginedjustforyou.wordpress.com/2012/08/09/wedding-signs/

Or you can buy signs from your local stationary store., . Of course, there is always Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/search?q=wedding%20signage&view_type=gallery&ship_to=ZZ&min=0&max=0&ref=auto-1

Have fun with the style!

Colors, need we say more

One of the most fun activities for a wedding is choosing colors. There are some great sites to help you out. One is http://www.theperfectpalette.com/. It is a very easy site to use and gives ideas for adding areas of color to your event via food, drink, clothes, and so forth.

You can choose your primary color, and you'll find a myriad of combinations. Here are just two of the selections based on yellow.

For a broader and very different color selection, many outside of the wedding scene, check out http://www.colourlovers.com/palettes and http://www.colourlovers.com/wedding.

How To # 1 How to Pin on a Boutonniere

The man’s boutonniere in pinned on the left side (over the heart). Most experts tell you to angle the boutonniere, have the flower in the middle and at the broadest part of the lapel, pin (start in the back of the lapel) usually from bottom up into the stem. Use a second pin if not secure. What you don’t want is to have it flop or move during the event.
An unusually look is the non-flower found at brides.com, shown in this photo, from http://rosenowfloral.com/frittsrosenow/ .
As with all of life, practice, practice, practice. in the weeks before the event, practice on some willing friend.
Keep the flowers fresh. Put them in the refrigerator—chilling them before use will make sure they are good looking and long lasting.
